This book was our bible for our visit to Kauai and I am not sure we would have seen some of the amazing things we did without it. We found most of the information to be accurate and very helpful. Just a couple of thoughts. We ate at Tidepools restaurant one night and it was an amazing experience. I am not a seafood person and because of our waiter Les and his amazing description of the food I ate an entire meal of seafood and LOVED IT!!! I highly recommend this place. Second, my husband loves pizza, so we ate at Brick Oven pizza in Kapa’a twice during our visit. While the pizza is really good, I would recommend getting it to go. We had HORRIBLE service both times we were there. The employees spent more time socializing in the kitchen than paying attention to their customers on both visits. My husband never got the second beer he ordered on our second visit. Both times were not peak dining times with only a few people in the restaurant.
What Readers Have to Say
“First of all I would like to thank you for the best vacation I have enjoyed, ever! I am in the U.S. Navy, currently stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI. After being stationed here for two and a half years, also taking multiple courses through Hawaii Pacific University I personally felt I knew a lot about the Hawaiian Islands. Boy was I wrong!!! Your guidebook was recommended to me from believe it or not – your competitors! Multiple people on Frommer’s Web site had placed a post that explains your book to be the best way to plan a trip to Hawaii. Your book was phenomenal! From the planning to being there to enjoying meals (My goodness the food!)… Overall your book was so helpful that I bought it for the island I live on!”
