Update: This is a resort in transition. In mid-October 2019 it became the Sheraton Coconut Beach Resort. We will be back to review it once the dust is settled, but so far we like what we see.

Nice centrally located resort with a good attitude. The rooms feel a bit dark in color scheme, but are clean and pleasant, and plans for upgrades were in the works at press time. Lanai on most rooms tend to be tiny, but the view categories seemed more than fair. Their beach isn’t very swimmable, and their pool is small for the size of the hotel, but it has a nice fire pit on one end that seems to be the hot spot at night. They have entertainment nightly in the courtyard and weekly hula shows. They rent bikes, beach gear and even backpacks for your day trips that you can stock with food from the market. The courtyard area feels very tropical with lots of trees and hammocks scattered about. A more-than-acceptable place to stay on the east side. Rooms (320 sq. ft) are $149–$349. Premium oceanfront rooms feel considerably larger at 550 sq. ft., have larger lanai and an extra vanity and sink. If you get a good deal, it could be considered a Solid Gold Value. Suites (1,060 sq. ft.) are $249–$399.

What Readers Have to Say

“I typically opt for a Moon publication, or perhaps a Fodors or a Frommers and they do a good job in this respect. However, I did not realize how much fun the actual reading of the book can be! You have been informative, with a great degree of specificity, and I feel well oriented to the islands. I feel prepared to know not only what to do and where to do it, but what NOT to do and where NOT to do it. But the big thing, and the reason I felt compelled to write this, is that I LAUGHED and was fully entertained throughout the reading. It was a true pleasure to read your books.”
