Well-maintained grounds at this condo with tennis and paddle ball courts (sort of mini tennis). The rooms seem to vary a lot. The two-story townhouse units have an annoying layout, but single-level 2/2 units are an acceptable value. Many of the units have been remodeled; others need updating. Buildings 1, 2, 4 and some units in 5 and 8 are your best bet for a glimpse of the ocean. The rest are strictly garden views. The agent listed rates their units into premier plus, premier, deluxe and island casual. We didn’t find much difference between premier and deluxe. Island casual units have not been updated but are still clean. Room safe in some units. 1/1 units (792 sq. ft.) are $200–$375, 2/2 units (1,221–1,531 sq. ft.) are $165–$570, 3/2 or 3/3 units (1,808–1,821 sq. ft.) are $385–$700. Some discounts available and they will come in handy at some of those rates. 3-night minimum.

What Readers Have to Say

“In April we spent a week on the Big Island, with a well-thumbed copy of “The Big Island Revealed” always close at hand. It’s a great book, very helpful…I checked out every reasonably current guidebook in our library and studied more of them at the bookstore. Yours was the only one I actually bought. The thing that made it a sale, beyond your “tell it like it is” approach and your sense of humor, was your maps. I’m very fussy about my maps, and I don’t need to tell you there are lots of bad ones out there. And putting those mile posts on yours is one of those touches that seems obvious, once you think about it, but they are seldom included. I’m glad you did…Thanks for your help in making it a terrific vacation.”
