A little bit more than halfway between the west and east sides of the island, making it a decent place to stop for the night if you plan a long day of detours on your way from Kona to the volcano. Housed in an old commercial building, this 5-room hostel has shared kitchen, livingroom and bath facilities. Options range from approx. 100 sq. ft. private room (up to two people) with a kitchenette; to private rooms with shared kitchen bath and a livingroom with a tv. $35 for a single, $50 for a double and $65 for the studio with kitchenette per night. They also have tent camping for $20 (up to two people) with bathroom and outdoor shower. Free Wi-Fi, bbq. No a/c but local calls are free.
