3300 Wailea Alanui Dr.
This is one of the less impressive Wailea properties, although room classifications are more than fair with decent ocean views from some of the so-called garden view units. Also, the 34 acres of grounds means that upper village units are a 10-minute walk from the beach. These are 2-story walk-ups. Even units closer to the beach may be a 5-minute walk. The rooms we saw were of good quality from the agent we list. The resort was built in 1975, so it’s not as pristine as others. This complex is fairly popular with families, and amenities such as a bbq on each lanai, paddle tennis (short tennis court) and shuffleboard confirm their target market. Their covered pavilion by the beach is great for families with kids. You have access to a kitchen there, so basically you don’t have to go back to the condo to eat.
The main rental agent, Destination Residences, has extra services, such as grocery shopping before you arrive, massages, free long distance calls to the U.S. mainland and Canada, and rental cars are available for $35 and up per day.
Studios (600 sq. ft.) are $179–$349, 1/2s (891–1,180 sq. ft.) are $229–$449, 2/2s (1,505–1,945 sq. ft.) are $329–$689. 3-night minimum. They add an 8.85% “resort fee” to your room rate which covers services such as housekeeping, area shuttle, Wi-Fi, local calls, as well as gift cards to nearby spas and restaurants.
