168 rooms, free hi-speed Internet access, free room safes. A 1960s 15-story skinny building with one end touching Waikiki Beach. Nearly all units face Fort DeRussy Park, which is good because the back of the building is crammed up against the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. The higher up the better. The first set of numbers is Castle; the second set of numbers is for Outrigger Resorts, which also manages some of the rooms here. This affects things like parking: $18 to self-park through Castle; $30 to valet or $20 to self-park through Outrigger, and their parking is off-property. Outrigger guests also must check in at Regency Beachwalk. All rooms have kitchens or kitchenettes, as well as washer/dryers, and free room safes. Castle rentals have no pool; Outrigger rentals will let you use their frenzied pool next door at the Reef. The condo units themselves are clean, though some could use updating—but they’re very bright, reasonably appointed and roomy. Studios (400 sq. ft.) are $205–$320, 1/1s (540–720 sq. ft.) are $285–$431, 2/1s (1,060 sq. ft.) are $415–$525, 2/2s (1,160–1,190 sq. ft.) are $556–$800. The rooms seem pricey to us, and discounts are hard to get because the rates are set by the condo owners themselves. Shop both agents for the best deal.
