350 rooms, 4 pools, 2 spas, 7 conference rooms, poolside snack bar, valet parking, room service, day spa, 24-hour fitness room, a couple of shops, hi-speed Internet access in rooms, free Wi-Fi in lobby area, 3 restaurants, lounge, room service, coin-op laundry, empty refrigerator, coffee maker with free coffee daily, free laptop safe, 24-hour business center, free airport shuttle. We just like the feel of this place. It’s relaxing, laid back and not too big. This resort has been through many management changes, but its latest is one of the better ones. In 2007, owners spent $13 million to upgrade the property, pools and rooms. The resort is currently a condotel (individual owners for each room). The rooms all have the same pleasant plantation style decor that was part of the upgrade and are holding up well.
This resort, located between Lihu‘e and Wailua, is near a pretty but relatively unswimmable beach. (A short walk farther north leads to better parts of Nukoli‘i Beach.) They’ve augmented their other 3 pools with a wonderful half-sand lined freshwater pool with a water slide complete with man-made waterfalls. We wish they had more umbrellas available for the pool chairs. Service has improved markedly, to the point that it competes with higher-end resorts, and they keep things very clean. The staff is warm here. Rooms are fairly small at 320 sq. ft. and so are the lanais. If you opt for ocean view, ask for one of the ocean-facing end units in Bldg. 4.
They charge $13 per day for self-parking, valet is $16. Internet in your room is $13, and local calls are a buck.
Rack Rates are high at $338–$498, but few pay them. Suites (650–1,250 sq. ft.) are $600–$1,300. Many good discounts and packages are available with rooms starting at $169.
