Maui Revealed Updates
Updates to 6th Edition
The updates below are for the 6th edition of Maui Revealed. Scroll down for updates to the 5th edition. Note: all page numbers refer to printed edition of the book.
At Wizard Publications we continually strive to bring you the most up-to-date and accurate information on the islands. We are the only publisher who updates our books every time we reprint them. So if you see the updates below already listed in the book you just bought, you may have a recent printing.
Parking / Entrance Fees at State Parks: ‘Iao Valley (page 67) and Makena Beach Park (page 165)–the latter may not be charging at present, but will start soon—are charging $5/per car or $1/per pedestrian to use facilities. Persons with Hawaii ID cards may enter at no charge.
This isn’t really an update. People keep sending us e-mail asking us why the time-saving road linking Wailea with Kula upcountry isn’t on our maps (though it is on other maps). At the risk of sounding self-serving, the other maps are wrong. As mentioned on page 136, that road is private, gated and not accessible.
Piiholo Ranch Store (page 126) is no longer carrying cowboy gear – just logowear for their zipline tour.
Aloha Shirt Museum & Shop (page 137) sadly closed.
Piper Sportfishing (page 177) their boat sank and they are looking for another.
Makena Golf Course (page 178) is closed for renovations and not expected to reopen until 2014.
Kapalua Adventures (page 234) has closed.
From the Island Dining chapter: the following restaurants have closed… Lahaina Mai Tai, Melting Pot.
